My plan to help the hummingbirds
The hummingbirds are back.
Because they are early, there may be some challenges for them,
this could be difficult, ecologically.
I want to help the hummingbirds so that they don't die.
How do I help them?
By giving them what they want.
Hummingbirds want:
- Bright flowers (fave colour red-orange)
- Sweet sugary nectary stuff
- Small insects (protein)
- Fresh water
- Small branches
The most efficient way to do this would be to make all of these things into a sort of care package.
(like for homeless people but for these birds because they're out of place and out of season)
Birds are pretty far away, so it will be hard to give these things to them...
The bright flowers thing just seems decorative, so I'll just paint the packages bright red-orange.
I'm not really sure what they mean by 'sugary nectar', so I'll just use syrup.
Small insects for protein could be hard to come by, I'll just get some protein powder for them.
Fresh water could be put straight into the package just like all the other stuff.
Small branches, easy, I'll take some twigs off a tree.
I'll use ziploc baggies as the actual packages, because that's waterproof and can hold all of the stuff.
The challenge of giving this to the birds will be challenging, because they're up high,
also, they probably will run away from me if I approach them.
I can solve this by delivering the packages from a distance using my sling.
This will work because the sling can throw a wide range of pre-existing projectiles from great distances,
also, the sling operates with great speed and kinetic energy, which will be convenient for the birds.
(like amazon's same-day delivery feature)
I wrote this during my philosophy break and was unable to post it before my next post (which is now my last post). I think it was like January, which is way too early for hummingbirds to be back, so I was a bit worried.
I did the tiniest bit of research and made a very silly plan.
The reason my voice might be different in this post is because I wrote it in a different software than usual which necessitated that each line be a maximum length of about 85 characters.
That's all for now.
Goodbye from Sam.
